April marked our third year of operations as Polestar Technical Services and next November will be 25-years of existence as “Polestar.” Over the course of those 25 years there have been challenges and great success; opportunities won and opportunities lost and a tremendous amount of change. Since our divestiture three years ago, we have continued to see growth each year which is progress and demonstrates success.
Growth and profit are certainly key measurements of success but they aren’t the only measure. Some would argue that maybe they aren’t even the most important (though positive net income is essential). Employee satisfaction, customer loyalty, quality and shared vision play a very large role in success and are inherent in our company core values, purpose and bigger goals.
Our core values represent 25 years of Polestar history and behavior; representing the essence of the company and how we operate. These core values guide our decision-making, the kind of work and the quality of work we do, and our interactions with employees, partners and clients.
The Purpose, Applying our collective talents to make a contribution every day, represents the pride we demonstrate in our day-to-day tasks and the importance of the work we do; whether it’s field work directly associated with cleanup operations, providing support to operations critical to our nation’s nuclear stockpile, working with facilities to help them operate more efficiently, or supporting Polestar corporate functions so that we can continue to do all of these things. We apply our talents to make these contributions every day.
When we measure success against our core values and purpose … we are certainly successful. Every day will bring challenges and successes and for every challenge we will work together to overcome and for every success we will celebrate. Thank you all for your support and hard work and most of all for your continued commitment the Polestar family.
